Ladies, the Bible talks about running a race in the Christian vernacular, so using that same language, we know we need a solid character to train for our race. The Holy Spirit has given us the tools to build that solid character called spiritual gifts, talents, and the fruit of the Spirit (NKJV).
Let’s use those resources, gifts, and tools to build ourselves up for a tough race and a strong finish!
Women in the military have a long and rich history! Sometimes we believe we have unique experiences that men typically do not have. As a Christian woman and Veteran, I would say a specific time is the time of menstruation and childbearing for many women. In the Bible, God created everything, including Adam and Eve, and he wonderfully fashioned them for each other. Therefore women have always had distinct roles to play in life from men.
We will cover more ground together as we continue the Spiritual gifts series. For this study, your Bible is your compass so let it be your guide. I am excited to share this information so we can learn and grow together!
So, ladies, do you consistently add fruits to your daily Christian diet? I am not talking about the
occasional fresh fruit you get when you go out to eat, and I am indeed not chatting about can fruits.
Most of us grew up hearing fruits should be an essential part of our daily diet for various reasons.
I am here to say we should be consuming a different fruit as Christians. Let’s eat the fruit of the Holy Spirit, which will enrich our spiritual diets in many ways. Enjoy the fruit of goodness!
James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

The Fruit of the Holy Spirit – What is goodness?
In Galatians 5:22-23, Paul lists the "fruit of the Spirit". “Fruit,” here, means "beneficial results," the good things that come from the Spirit’s indwelling. As the Holy Spirit works in our lives, our character changes. Where we had harbored selfishness, cruelty, rebelliousness, and spite, we now possess love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Everything in the list reflects the character of God, and goodness is one that relates directly to morality.
Most of us like to think we are “good people, right?” But do we truly understand the Bible’s definition of the gift of goodness? Got Questions Ministry illustrates what goodness is similar to my equation: Goodness = Virtue + Holiness working together in peaceful harmony.
The Fruit of the Holy Spirit – What is goodness?
Goodness is virtue and holiness in action. It results in a life characterized by deeds motivated by righteousness and a desire to be a blessing. It’s a moral characteristic of a Spirit-filled person. The Greek word translated “goodness,” agathosune, is defined as "uprightness of heart and life." Agathosune is goodness for the benefit of others, not goodness simply for the sake of being virtuous.
Let’s stay focused on sharing the fruit of goodness, as God will enable us to do that to honor Him!
