Ladies, the Bible talks about running a race in the Christian vernacular, so using that same language, we know we need a solid character to train for our race. The Holy Spirit has given us the tools to build that solid character called spiritual gifts, talents, and the fruit of the Spirit (NKJV).
Let’s use those resources, gifts, and tools to build ourselves up for a tough race and a strong finish!
Women in the military have a long and rich history! Sometimes we believe we have unique
experiences that men typically do not have. As a Christian woman and Veteran, I would say a
specific time is the time of menstruation and childbearing for many women. In the Bible, God
created everything, including Adam and Eve, and he wonderfully fashioned them for each other.
Therefore women have always had distinct roles to play in life from men.
We will cover more ground together as we continue the Spiritual gifts series. For this study, your Bible is your compass so let it be your guide. I am excited to share this information so we can learn and grow together!
So, ladies, do you consistently add fruits to your diet? I am not talking about the occasional fresh
fruit you get when you go out to eat, and I am indeed not chatting about can fruits. Most of us
grew up hearing fruits should be an essential part of our daily diet for various reasons. I am here
to say we should be consuming a different fruit as Christians. Let’s eat the fruit of the Holy Spirit,
which will enrich our spiritual diets in many ways. Enjoy the fruit of joy!
Understanding the fruit of the Spirit of joy may be challenging, especially during those tough times. When we get beyond some of the trials we face, we should begin to see joy not as an emotion but as a necessity of life.
As we delve into the Word of God, we can see how believers can experience the fruit of joy, even in troubling times. I believe as we become mature Christians, we will come to understand and embrace this passage:
John 15: 9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10 When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11 I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
New Living Translation (NLT)
As Christians, we have many opportunities to distribute the fruit of the Holy Spirit throughout our
daily walk. Our featured article, “The Fruit of the Holy Spirit – What is joy?” is filled with the sweet taste of scriptures designed to help us understand how the Holy Spirit is with us to guide us through life as children of the Most-High God.
Question: “The Fruit of the Holy Spirit – What is joy?”
Answer: Literally, the “fruit of the Spirit” is what happens when the Holy Spirit indwells a believer. The “fruit” is the product of the Holy Spirit’s cultivation of character in a heart. Galatians 5:22-23 describes what that fruit looks like; the second characteristic listed is joy. The Greek word for joy is chara. Joy is the natural reaction to the work of God, whether promised or fulfilled. Joy expresses God’s kingdom—His influence on earth (Romans 14:17).
Let’s stay focused on sharing the fruit of joy, as God will enable us to do that to honor Him!
